Austrian registry online again
Datum: 16.10.2008
The connection via the ITL allows Austrian account holders to participate in international emissions trading. Kyoto units from Joint Implementation (ERUs) and Clean Development Mechanism (CERs) projects can now be transferred to Austrian accounts. Operators may use these units for their compliance up to a limit of ten percent of the free allocation which they receive in the period 2008-2012.
In addition to ERUs and CERs, account holders can continue to trade EU allowances (EUAs), which are called ‘ AAUs/from 2008’ in the Austrian registry. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that other Kyoto units must not be transferred to Austrian accounts without special permit by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.
